Each month Jeff Love will answer one of the frequently asked questions we receive about computer and technical training and career development.

October 2001 FAQ:

Do you have any tips to offer those who might be trying to separate the good free training sites from the less worthwhile ones?

You should be able to see right away if the site is offering good training content. Good content is well written, covers the area extensively (doesn't shortcut the material), and attempts to engage the student. If you are a newbie you really need to ask questions to someone who knows the answers. Sometimes, all you need is to ask your question to an expert on one of these sites: (more listed here: Some free training sites do have live people available to answer your questions, but this is usually not the case.

I hope this helps you.
