3 PHP Tutorials and an XML Tutorial
Here are 3 PHP Scripting Tutorials, from nicetutz.blogspot.com, along with an XML Tutorial. These tutorials will show and teach you how to get started with scripting PHP into your web pages to give them user friendly features and interactivity.
What is PHP and Why Should I Care?
This introductory tutorial informs you about what PHP is and what it can do for your web pages.
Basics of Object Oriented Programming
This Object Oriented Programming (OOP) tutorial provides an overview of what OOP is with a view toward using PHP effectively. It goes over three concepts of object orientation in these tutorials: class, access modifiers, and inheritance.
Object Oriented Features New to PHP 5
In this PHP tutorial, learn how to use the new Object Oriented features in PHP 5. Support for objects has been add into PHP, so you can choose to use objects or simply use procedural programming. That PHP is a hybrid language should be viewed as something positive, not as a disadvantage.
Introduction to XML and Web Services
The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple, platform-independent standard for describing data within a structured format. It allows data to be tagged using descriptive names so both humans and computer applications can understand the meaning of different pieces of data.
CSS Tutorial from Open-of-course.org
Here is Open-of-course.org's online CSS Tutorial that will teach you how use use and apply Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) in your web pages. Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a stylesheet language used to describe the presentation of a document written in a markup language. CSS in HTML pages is used to define colors, fonts, layout, and other aspects of document presentation. Besides separating the content from the content's presentation, CSS also permits the same web pages to be presented in different styles for different rendering methods, such as on-screen, in print, by voice, etc. CSS specifies a priority scheme to determine which style rules apply if more than one rule matches against a particular element. In this so-called cascade, priorities are calculated and assigned to rules, so that the results are predictable. Also check out this site's CSS Forum to communicate with other web developers using CSS.

The following programs are totally Free, no popups, no adware, no spyware, and no shareware.
X-Gen is a web development tool that allows you to create pages with the same layout, over and over again. The program provides an interface that allows you to modify the content of your pages, without editing the actual files. You just create a template for each page once, and then manage the template details from the X-Gen interface. You can create as many template section as you need (e.g title, main content, footer, header etc) and then just generate all your pages with the click of a button. You can specify the output directory, as well as a default extension for the generated files.
Easy HTML To Any Script Converter
Selida is a highly flexible HTML editor that offers a lot of dialogs helping you to write code, insert images, hyperlink and more. It provides a real time browser preview that allows you to see the actual (IE based) browser display while you are writing your HTML code. When the tag you want comes up, simply click space. In addition it supports automatic tag completion, multicolor syntax highlighting and an optional WYSIWYG interface. Furthermore it offers support for ASP code, Java, VB and plain text and comes with additional tools like code cleanup, code compression, error checking as well as a spellchecker.
MEdit is a multipurpose editor that can be used to edit local files as well as remote files via FTP. It comes pre-configured with syntax highlighting for many languages, including PHP, Java, HTML, SQL and more. While AVIcodec does not provide you with the codecs, it makes it easy to identify the exact video type and the codecs required (if any). In addition, it provides links to online resources to find required codecs, and also displays a list of all codecs (with version) that are installed on your system.
VideoInspector provides detailed information for selected video files. It includes Codec requirements, Duration, streams, resolution, bitrate, frames per seconds (FPS), Sample rate etc., and also calculates the video quality factor.
8) Question of the Month about Technical Training:
Each month Jeff Love will answer a current or important question that we have received about computer and IT training and career development.
April 2008 Question of the Month:
What is Microsoft’s Live Mesh and how will it affect web and application development in the future?
Microsoft's new Live Mesh is both a platform and a service that has been two years in the making. (Here’s several screen shots of what you can expect to see when Microsoft offers its Live Mesh tech preview.) Mary Jo Foley does a pretty good job of distilling and explaining what Live Mesh is all about in her article, Ten things to know about Microsoft’s Live Mesh. She writes that the best definition of Live Mesh what she has found was in a Live Mesh reviewer’s guide: “Live Mesh is a ’software-plus-services’ platform and experience from Microsoft that enables PCs and other devices to ‘come alive’ by making them aware of each other through the Internet, enabling individuals and organizations to manage, access, and share their files and applications seamlessly on the Web and across their world of devices.” She continues, "If I were in charge of defining Live Mesh, I think I’d go with 'a Software + Services platform for synchronization and collaboration.'” Live Mesh is to be cross-platform and cross-browser and based on standard protocols and feeds, such as HTTP, RSS, REST, ATOM, JSON and FeedSync. It will use the cloud storage, management, service and provisioning, and computational components that other Microsoft Live services use. In addition, Live Mesh will make use of the same identity, synchronized storage and connectivity services that Microsoft uses for other Live offerings. The “platform” services (the “developer stack”) include the new Mesh Framework, as well as both a cloud and a client software run-time Mesh Operating Environment (MOE). Here is the official MSDN blog for Live Mesh. For more technical details, take a look at Ori Amiga's Programming the Mesh.
